One of the things I’m asked most about is if I have any advice on how to come out. I’m sharing five tips that helped me accept — and be proud of! — my sexuality. These are by no mean one-size-fits-all solutions and I recognize that as a cis-white male, I’ve been afforded privileges that are not necessarily available to everyone in the LGBTQ+ community. I can only speak to my own experience, but these are things I wish someone had told me when I was a gay kid growing up in the Midwest.

QTPoC have been leading the fight for equality in the LGBTQ+ community since the beginning and yet have been the most marginalized. I’ve compiled a list of organizations that directly serve these communities, both for folks who might need them and for anyone who may want to support them.
